No major competition sells equal footing like the NFL: it’s the entire brand. Yet following the first ten matchups in this campaign, this isn’t a league that is equally balanced between the good, the bad and the mediocre. Instead, it's a scenario where most of the league is simply adequate.

NFC Clarity

Within the National Football Conference, to some degree, we see clearer definition. The Rams and Seahawks (both standing at seven wins, two losses) appear to be the most complete teams in the NFL, and delivered decisive victories on Sunday. Philadelphia at 6-2 notwithstanding their difficulties continue to possess one of the most talented rosters throughout football, comparable to Green Bay (5-2-1). Detroit as well (6-3 standing), despite their uneven performances along both lines of scrimmage and navigating internal staff conflicts, have proven they can hammer quality opponents. Regarding these five teams, it's straightforward to put together a route to the final game.

AFC Confusion

In the AFC however, postseason landscape remains completely chaotic. Your four division leaders after ten games: Indianapolis, New England, Denver (each with 8-2 records) along with Pittsburgh (5-4). Consider that carefully. No Chiefs presence. Not the Bills. Baltimore and Cincinnati are absent. Indianapolis Colts

Starting in Indianapolis, Daniel Jones hasn't yet achieved complete disaster level. But the last two weeks have been worrying. He's reverting to giving away possessions and faltering under duress. New England Analysis

New England appears relatively comparable. A year ago, they were a punchline. Now, they’re the NFL's most pleasant shock and the strongest squad across the league after seven straight wins. If not for losing due to fumbles a manageable matchup versus the Steelers, they’d be sitting a 9-1 record with the best record. In the prior year, they appeared aged and sluggish. Currently they're inexperienced, speedy and bold. However, we must acknowledge the weakness of New England's opponents. They have faced the easiest slate throughout football, and flaws have still emerged. The signal-caller has been sacked 35 times – ranking second league-wide – and some of the shots he absorbed on Sunday proved brutal. As the season progresses, those hits add up.

Denver Analysis

Denver stands at 8–2 as well, and it still feels that they're barely surviving. Bo Nix has been erratic, with the attack struggling, while the defensive unit provides all the heavy lifting. Absent adequate signal-calling, the Broncos won't frighten any playoff team. Los Angeles remains nearby in the Western division at 7-2, however, health issues along their offensive line will make it tough to achieve championship contention.

Pittsburgh Situation

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh exists, somehow still leading the Northern division despite being thumped a decisive loss to Los Angeles on Sunday night. They have a negative point differential, their defense too often disappears, with their quarterback's restrictions during his career phase regularly manifest. They maintain a 5-4 record while surviving, yet Baltimore, with their QB returning to health and the schedule softening, have won three consecutive. We shouldn't be completely astonished that Baltimore has closed the gap to just one game, though the speed of this shift highlights deficiencies within Pittsburgh's fluctuating form. That the Ravens started with a 1-5 record yet still appear capable of division victory speaks volumes regarding the entire AFC.

Established Contenders

Baltimore constitutes part within a trio of powerhouses – together with Bills and Chiefs – powered by their MVP quarterbacks, who would still strike the highest anxiety in opposing teams should they reach postseason. They're the teams everyone hopes to avoid, however, both franchises continue to self-destruct.

Buffalo Bills

Previously, the Bills felt confident post Chiefs triumph. This weekend they encountered among the season's worst defeats of the season. They didn't simply fail against Miami; they were embarrassed, losing 30-13 as visitors. The Dolphins secured their first triumph versus Buffalo in several seasons.
